EUROPEAN COLLABORATION SUMMIT TOPICS
May 28-30 2018, Mainz, Germany
Next year is going to be a major year in the world of collaboration, digital transformation, and the technologies that support those processes. This has guided our selection of topics for the European Collaboration Summit topics. Our aim is to help companies navigate through digital transformation, improve their collaboration, and understand the technology underneath. Welcome to Mainz, and to the European Collaboration Summit, where business meets technology.
OFFICE 365 AND SHAREPOINT: WHAT IS NEW, WHAT IS COMING, BEST PRACTICES
A range of new services based on Office 365 and SharePoint Online are seeing daylight as we speak – Microsoft Teams, Communication sites, PowerApps and Flow integration, to mention just some of them. New on-premises stuff is still coming, and new hybrid possibilities are emerging. We will have a series of sessions, full day tutorials and panels about the new, hot stuff coming out of Redmond kitchen, delivered by Microsoft corporate speakers.
EMAIL AND UNIFIED COMMUNICATION: WHAT IS NEW WITH EXCHANGE AND SKYPE?
We will have a whole track devoted to Exchange and Skype for Business topics, both in Office 365 and on premises. We will cover all the news, but also have deep-dive sessions and panels on email and unified communications topics.
Unified collaboration: What does Microsoft Teams mean to you?
Microsoft Teams is the next generation collaboration tool from Microsoft. It encompasses a broad range of other Microsoft services, to deliver a unified modern collaboration experience to the users. A large number of ECS 2018 sessions and full-day tutorials will be fully or partly focused on Microsoft Teams.
DEEP-DIVE ARCHITECTURE, DEVELOPER AND IT PRO SESSIONS AROUND AZURE, OFFICE 365 AND SHAREPOINT STACK
Half the sessions will be level 300, deep-dive, tech-only sessions, covering different architecture, IT Pro and developer topics. The topics will range from the best way to utilize the Azure services in the context of SharePoint and Office 365 deployments and development projects, to hybrid deployments, advanced SharePoint deployment sessions, and, of course, developer sessions. And talking of developers…
BUSINESS SOLUTIONS WITH OFFICE 365 AND SHAREPOINT ONLINE
Office 365 and SharePoint Online are mature and present in almost all businesses. This year, we will devote a number of sessions on business solutions on top of the Microsoft’s cloud collaboration platform. Attendees will learn how to get maximum out of their investment in Office 365, what is in it for Power Users and citizen developers, and what Microsoft’s and third party platforms are available.
MICROSOFT SHAREPOINT DEV PNP TEAM SESSIONS
…we should mention that we will again have the legendary SharePoint Dev Patterns and Practices team with us, led by Vesa Juvonen. The team will cover all in-depth development topics around Office 365 and SharePoint, both online and on premises. SPFx, PnP stuff, Microsoft Graph APIs, Microsoft Team development – we’ve got it all covered.
FOR DECISION MAKERS: CHOOSING AND UNDERSTANDING DIFFERENCES BETWEEN CLOUD, ON PREMISES AND HYBRID
Companies have legacy systems. Shiny new software services appear first in cloud, and the gap is steadily increasing between everyday reality and the new ways of doing IT. In our Business Track, we will have sessions with world-class Microsoft and MVP speakers specifically targeting these issues and offering concrete answers: what cloud options we have, what the migration possibilities are, whether hybrid is a temporary or a permanent solution, and what it is capable of.
DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AND COLLABORATION: HOW DO THEY INTERACT?
After thousands of years we’re still working together, but the technologies we use are changing rapidly. Digital Transformation track will tackle these issues: how the collaboration technologies are changing, what the challenges are, what new tools we have to support us, how to choose among the ever-growing number of those tools, and what your best options are. World-class Microsoft and MVP speakers from the United States and Europe will offer concrete answers and help you navigate the digital transformation time and challenges.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT ON MICROSOFT PLATFORM
Project Management tools and techniques were always an important part of European Collaboration Summit and its predecessors. In 2018, again, we will have world-leading experts from the Project Management field on Microsoft’s platform, including Microsoft Project, Teams, Planner and ToDo. A range of Project Management sessions, delivered by world-class Project Management and Microsoft Project experts – including Ellen Lehnert and Nenad Trajkovski – MVPs from Europe and the USA, will give you the answers on how all those technologies converge and differ, how they should be used, and what makes sense. They are the guarantee that the project management-oriented sessions are going to be top-notch.
